Joan Ramon

The project «United by our talk», promoted by the Department of Culture of the Sant Josep de sa Talaia City Council, this one comes back 2026 with a program dedicated to the dissemination and preservation of the linguistic and cultural heritage of Ibiza.

As stated in the official document, «Units pel nostre parlar is a project of the Sant Josep City Council to promote knowledge of the linguistic and cultural heritage of Ibiza» Y "wants to promote interaction between different social groups and generations around this treasure that we must preserve together". The program 2026 develops from 4 al 22 September and is aimed at both the native population and those who have recently joined and wish to become familiar with the local culture.

Within this programming, audiovisual screenings will take place on Sunday 13 September at 19.30 h and sunday 20 September at 20.30 h at the Can Jeroni Cultural Center. They will present various pieces made by groups from the municipality.: Let's compare generations, in charge of the Folklore Group Sant Jordi de Ses Salines; Good morning and good luck, old-fashioned killings, of the Folklore Group of Sant Josep de sa Talaia; Vedraners, carried out by the Es Cubells Neighborhood Association; Y Readings about Portmany Bay in tribute to Joan Ramon, by the Association of Neighbors and Owners of Cala de Bou and Es Port des Torrent.

This last piece takes on a special dimension thanks to the work of EIVISUAL, the producer responsible for the audiovisual production of the tribute.. The video has been recorded and edited by Agustín Prades, whose technical and sensitive look provides a texture close to the territory and collective memory. The direction is by Ramon Mayol, that articulates the story with a narrative approach that combines landscape, tradition and community recognition, in coherence with the spirit of the project.

The tribute also incorporates a musical element created expressly for the occasion. The Mon Duo&MarCel wanted to participate with an original habanera titled longing, based on the poem of the same name by the poet Sonya Torres. The piece, recorded for this project, adds an emotional and literary layer that reinforces the evocative nature of the audiovisual and contributes to underlining the importance of shared memory in Portmany Bay.

With this production, United by our talk reaffirms its objective of strengthening ties between generations and diverse groups, valuing the language, the traditions and cultural landscape of Ibiza. The work of EIVISUAL, along with the participation of local entities and the musical contribution of Mon&MarCel, turns the tribute to Joan Ramon into a piece that celebrates common identity and projects his legacy into the future.
